The government continues to intensify vaccinations for the community. This is done as an effort to protect the public from contracting COVID-19, as well as reduce morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19. On the other hand, the success of the vaccination program is also the key to economic recovery and tourism both at the national and central levels. The more and the faster the people are protected, is directly proportional to the recovery of economic conditions in the area.
The latest effort is to provide COVID-19 vaccinations for foreign nationals (foreigners). This is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number HK.01.07/MENKES/1368/2022 concerning the Implementation of COVID-19 Vaccination for Foreign Citizens.
"As one of our efforts to ensure that foreigners who live or stay temporarily and permanently get easy access to vaccinations, as well as to prevent possible transmission," said Ministry of Health Spokesperson, dr. Mohammad Syahril, Tuesday (27/9) in Jakarta.
The implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination for foreigners is carried out through a vaccination program. The foreigner in question is a foreigner with a residence permit or having a Temporary Stay Permit Card (KITAS)/Permanent Stay Permit Card (KITAP).
The implementation of vaccinations for representatives of foreign countries and international non-profit organizations currently on duty in Indonesia is coordinated by the ministry that carries out government affairs in the foreign sector. "Foreigners who register for vaccinations in Indonesia are required to have a Temporary Stay Permit Card (KITAS), a Permanent Stay Permit Card (KITAP), or a residence permit, and a passport number following the provisions of the legislation," said dr. Syahril.
The implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination for foreigners will begin in September 2022 at health service facilities or COVID-19 vaccination service posts that meet the requirements by the provisions of the legislation.
“Vaccination registration is done through the PeduliLindungi.id website to get a vaccination ticket. The implementation of this vaccination applies to foreigners who have not received any vaccinations in their country, foreigners who continue with the next dose of vaccination, to foreigners who want to get a booster," said dr. Syahril.
